Sea Light Medical Recruitment Agency is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support workers to join our team. As a support workers you will be helping the people our clients support to feel safe and secure. Delivering exceptional care and individualized support ensures that our client residents live as independently and safely as possible. In addition, the responsibilities of the role are to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the service and carry out necessary utility checks. This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience. Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although is not essential.

What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.

Tasks / Responsibilities of a Night Support Worker (may include but not limited to):

  • Routine safety checks on individuals and their environment
  • Ensure the service is safe and secure
  • Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
  • Administering medication
  • Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
  • Ensuring written records are correctly maintained
  • Will include lone working
  • Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours and mental health issues – hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.
  • Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
  • Understanding each individuals abilities and support needs
  • Promoting independence and choice
  • Promoting equality, diversity & inclusion
  • Uphold the privacy, confidentially and dignity of all individuals
  • To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
  • A commitment to continuous personal development and learning.

Expected hours: 48 per week

Day range:

  • Every weekend
  • Monday to Friday

Shift:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
